Domain Software, LLC -
Four service plans have been setup for access to use and license our database of deleted domains. We have been involved in domain name analysis and statistics since November 2000, gathering and compiling an extensive database of expired domains. As of August 4, 2002 our deleted domains database stands at 7,569,199 domains. These are domains that have expired and are AVAILABLE for immediate registration since our monitoring began almost two years ago. The database is comprised of deleted .COM, .NET and .ORG domains, all of which have expired and are available for registration. These domains are NOT unregistered domains! These are domains that were registered and have expired.

A preview of our database can be viewed at http://www.dnware.com/available/. Please note that we have disabled the ability to actually register a domain to avoid abuse upon our registrar GKG.NET. Our search engine is setup to allow the user to filter out any domains they do not want returned.

Our current filters are as follows:
- Ability to filter domains based on TLD (.com, .net, .org)
- Ability to filter domains with hyphens
- Ability to filter domains with numbers
- Ability to filter domains with profanity
- Ability to filter domains based on a set minimum and maximum character length

Any domains returned on the results page can be clicked to have the user taken to the registration page to register the domain. We have included the ability to log all search queries including what if any filters were used, and how far the customer viewed the returned results. Results are limited to 5,000 domains, of which 200 are displayed per page. Our reason for setting a limit on the number of domains returned is to ensure every search is completed as fast as possible. However, if you order Service Plans 2-4 you have the ability to increase the amount of domains returned, including how many domains are displayed per page.

The following is the maintenance schedule for August 2002:
August 4, 2002: Database updated with expired domains from July 28, 2002

Good afternoon,
I am not sure I fully understand your question. Are you asking if the domains on the results page are indexed in search engines? If so, we actually implemented a data look up of old domain WHOIS records using Alexa.com. However, we found it to not be useful for us because Alexa.com would recrawl the domain every few months, and once the domain expires it will stop crawling the site and erase the WHOIS info for that domain. Please let us know what your thoughts are and we'll see if we can do it. Thanks.

Sincerely,
Blake Schiafone
