I have a domain of my own parked over at godaddy.com. Do you know of any free site hosters that let me use my domain instead of the one they give me? Thanks!

Hurry over to http://www.cyberwings.com
They're not free, but very cheap. The most expensive plan they have is less than $35 a year and as cheap as $2.++ a year.

They're so cheap on prices that they have a huge back log of registration, and are having a hard time keeping up.

I think it's worth the wait.

Does a place that cheap actually offer a good service?

My understanding is yes. The only negative thing I've heard about them is the setup time for the hosting service.

However, they've been swapmed with signups that they don't have the physical employees to keep up with it. They acutally suspended signups at one point to catch up with the demand.

I feel what you get for the price is worth the wait. I may feel different later, but I'm willing to spend $8 once to find out vs. $10 or more a month and not be statisfied.

I don't have to renew unless I want. If it's bad service and I'm not satisfied I've lost $8.00

Cyberwings sound interesting. Two questions though. First, are they a reputable company? I mean, are there hidden costs and are they going to screw me over later on. . . Second, can I transfer a domain to them to host? I have my own domain at godaddy and would like to use that instead of a subdomain.

Oh, one other thing. Do they use banners? Thanks!

I'm not qualified to answer that question. You can ask for a better opinion on the cyberwings forums located here:

http://forums.cyberwings.com/

I'm still waiting for my account to be setup so I've not run into any problems other than that.

I know that if you surpass your bandwidth that it's $1.50 per GB over, but they give you the option of upgrading to the next plan (which they claim is usually cheaper.) Even their most expensive plan is 65.00 a year ($5.42 a month).
