Useful advice! Thanks. I can add some more common mistakes to your list:
-Designing For Yourself, Not For Users
-Unintuitive Design
-Overlong Text Input
Also there exist some mistakes which are peculiar for mobile applications design.

These are done if you do not have more time for your business, which is not good. if you want to have a website for you then you must give some quality time to make it worth else everything will have a bad affect. Website is the first place to make some good impression and we should not miss this.

nice post but I think we should also simplify the codes behind our webpages. A simplified webpage is more popular with search engines like Google. So if you want to get traffic through search engines, we should simplify our webpages.

thanks for the tips; def useful.

some other tips are:
-dont overcomplicate it
-too much detail
-dont design for yourself and be more open to constructive criticsm.

To me, too much grid based design is another fault that are still running by most of the webmasters these days. Its another big fault by default. Too much non-userfriendly. :/

See dear, how much creative the designer doesn't matter, now a days clients are killing the taste of a web designer. Clients are only telling the total design ideas. How silly it is?

When considering your new online business presence, think about responsive web design as well. Annie Pilon explains this is the process of designing a site that “responds to” or re-sizes itself to the size of the device used to view it.

Well, with an increasing number of different devices and different screen sizes, it’s more important than ever that your Web presence is versatile.
