Offcourse it affect ranking. If you have lots of traffic, the change is some of them will share your site on their wall, which will give you more natural backlinks. And their friends might visit your site, which will give you even more traffic.

The short answer is that no, a website's traffic does not have a direct impact on its rankings within organic search results. If this were the case, new content would never be able to rank, since it would have no traffic.

You just concentrate on SEO part, try to get more and more backlinks. These backlinks will improve your organic traffic which will helps you to become visible on google and all search engines, which will automatically increase traffic to website but i think it doesn't work 100%. you also work with SEO techniques for better results.Try to get more valid back-links.

Getting traffic is always good for your website. The google has not updated the page rank so i am not sure whether it will boost your website ranking. If you getting organic traffic to your website that means you are getting traffic through the keywords. Get the details about this keywords on Google webmaster download the list and focus those keywords.
