PHP Search Engine

Is there a simple PHP script I can use that will put a search engine on my page (only a textbox and SEARCH button) because my JavaScript search engine needs to be updated everytime I add more content to my site.(as it works by scanning all files and recording keywords)

Thanks in advance.

For this you have to obey some search engine features:
Advanced search options: some words, all words ("+" sign), none of these words ("-" sign), exact phrase search (double quotes), search by category, search by last time modified, search by first letter of a title.

Both of them have their own benefits. ASP is best when someone wants to use it for various languages while PHP supports cross platform and MySQL supports it well.

PHP runs on any server that can do even CGI - which includes Microsoft servers. ASP is basically a Microsoft thing. Non-Microsoft servers don't run it (it's just text to them).

PHP is a scripting language used to create dynamic pages. On the other hand, ASP.NET is a web application framework aimed to design dynamic web pages and applications.

ASP is the short term for Active Server Pages, a type of program that works with Microsoft alongside IIS or Internet Information Server.

Both of them are good. Both of them are server side languages. Buit PHP has more users the ASP. ASP supports multiple programming languages.

PHP or Hypertext Preprocessor, runs using Linux or UNIX server. The additional updated PHP programs will currently run on an NT server.

PHP with all its benefits like faster speed and cross platform has made it possible for developers to consider while developing search engines. Database support is well maintained.

PHP is to develop the web development program. Basically PHP is mostly used for web site development. PHP also support oops concept. But ASP is a Microsoft technology.
