What is external style sheet?

Hello friends,
I would like to know,
What is external style sheet?

An External Style Sheet is a file containing only CSS syntax (no document content or elements) and should carry a MIME type of "text/css." The style information is not explicitly tied directly to the document's elements, so Selector syntax is used to specify what styles attach to which portions of the document tree.

Link to an external style sheet that you can reference from all your HTML pages. Includes example.

By applying consistent formatting to website pages, external style sheets help in bringing a uniform, global look and feel to a website. The external style sheet can be linked from HTML pages. When using an external style sheet, styles need to be set up only once for each element. The external style sheet contains only CSS syntax and also carries a “text/CSS” MIME type. One of the unique features associated with external style sheets is that they can be created in any text editor, but need to be saved with a .css extension. The file should never have any elements of HTML. There are two main techniques of calling an external style sheet into an HTML document. One method is by using the tag within the HTML document head. Another method is with the help of a combination of external CSS functions along with embedded CSS.

CSS that's not visible on the page, but is pulled in from somewhere else to style the page.

Hi

The external style sheet is generally used when you want to make changes on multiple pages.

The External Stylesheet is a .css file that you link your website to. This makes it so that what ever you change in the .css sheet, will effect every page in your website. This prevents you from having to make many code changes in each page. This is for "global" site changes.

An external style sheet is a separate file linked to an HTML web page. It comes with a .css filename extension. All the styles that need to be used on a website can be declared in the external style sheet. External style sheets are an important tool from the webmaster’s perspective.
