What is the difference between inbound and outbound links?

I am building links through off page submissions, I don't know whether they come under inbound or outbound, kindly tell me what is the difference and which one is better?

Inbound Links: The links which are directed to your website. make sure while creating inbound links the websites you choose should be dofollow. Nofollow inbound links won't be counted.

Outbound Links: The links you are giving to other sites through your site are outbound links. But they will only be useful for the other site if they are dofollow.

Inbound links or commonly known as “backlinks” are the links pointing to your site and search engines like Google like it when you have thousands of links pointing to your site. Outbound links are the links pointing to other websites from your website and you have more control over these links

Inbound Links are those links which are coming to your website.
Outbound Links are those links which are going from your website to other website.
