Using Target Keywords in Domain Name

I used to think this was critical, but now I am slowly being convinced that the Google has limited the importance of having the keywords in the domain name for SEO purposes.

It's good to use the keywords in the URLs (even if the domain name does not contain them), for example, if you are targeting the keyword "children's clothing": mydomain.com/childrens-clothing.html is better than an incomprehensible URL.

However, it's always a plus if you have target keywords in domain name or URL but still you can take your site to No1 position without it as well. There are lots of example for it. Just make a Google search on any keyword and you will certainly find one site on first page without having target keywords in domain name.

Using or having targeted keywords in the domain is very much beneficial for the rank of any website. Using the targeted keywords will boost the rank of any web page because URL is the first thing crawled by the search engine and if it found the keyword there it will improve the rank of that keyword for sure. This keyword will not require many efforts to take the website on the top of the search engine result page.

Keyword selection completely depends on the scale of the popularity of your business. Google, as such, doesn’t encourage or discourage usage of keywords in domain.

A new business website has to optimize for keywords, because there is very few percentage of audience that can recognise a business with its brand names. For big and well established brands, however, you can get away away with Generic keyword optimization.

Well Targeting keywords in Domain Name was quite effective technique to get your site indexed and optimized in major search engines! But After Panda Algorithmic update things changed quite rapidly and Google crawlers able to determine the targeted keywords and domain names, As Things Stand Today It is quite useless technique and it could be caught by Google under Google Over Optimization Penalty.
