Deleting Uncategorized Categories

I’ve tried older solutions in threads with no . Is there a way to actually delete an uncategorized category? I know about going to the admin panel and disabling uncategorized post but this simply hides the category. Is there a way to fully delete it? I don’t even know how it was created.

Step 2: Delete Uncategorized. Now that you've chosen a different default post category, you'll be able to delete uncategorized. Go into Posts > Categories, and you'll notice the option to delete uncategorized is visible now. Click on delete and it's gone!Aug 28, 2015
