ASP is fundamentally a Microsoft thing. Non-Microsoft servers don't run it (it is text to them). PHP runs on any server that can do even CGI - which includes Microsoft servers.

PHP is a CPU scripting language, planned for producing lively web pages, it has evolved to comprise power line boundary ability and can be used in unrelated graphical applications.

PHP is to develop the web development program. Basically PHP is mostly used for web site development. PHP also support oops concept. But ASP is a Microsoft technology.

ASP orActive Server Pages, is a kind of program working along with Microsoft alongside Internet Information Server and needs a Microsoft Server for website workings.

ASP is short for Active Server Pages, is a type of programs that work with the Microsoft Internet Information Server or IIS.*To operate the Web site, ASP, you need a server at Microsoft.*Elsewhere or Hypertext Preprocessor PHP will run or UNIX server using Linux.*PHP is a more updated program can now run on an NT server.

The ASP is basically a Microsoft item. Non-Microsoft servers don't track it and it is very good to take note that it is an essential part of any site.
