Traffic is an eminent factor of a website’s online performance. But all the traffic on the website is not active traffic. Active traffic means the users who visit the site regularly spend time to read, watch and interact on the site.
I want to increase the traffic to the site using some new techniques. Is there any standard and expert method that I should follow?

I'd say create something that makes your users want to keep coming back, for example facebook, most only go on to check their messages. Obviously it depends on what sort of site you have. If you have a blog i'd recommend updating it and posting at least 2-3 times a week.

You have to update your website with new content, image. So this update user want to check out and spent time to watching your website. So keep this update to get traffic for your website.
