I want to know about cross link and what is the benefit of having a group of domain by a single owner.

Link Wheel and cross link is almost same. But link wheel is done when get links from blogging domains which seems quite natural and in cross link you get links from same IP. Thus, google can judge its a link building tactic. so, always try to build natural links.
