Tomcat and java are resource intensive application. If your website is on shared hosting then you need to check whether your server is equipped with good hardware and able to provide you high uptime.
Almost all hosting providers provides tomcat hosting. It would be better to host site on cPanel server where tomcat is installed as far as performance is concerned.
