A server is going about as a door or intermediary to satisfy the solicitation by the customer ,to get to the asked for URL. The blunder happens when this server gets an invalid reaction from an upstream server it got to satisfy the solicitation. This more often than not does not imply that the upstream server is down , but instead that the upstream server and the door/intermediary don't concur on the convention for trading information.
