SEO is the process of optimizing your content and your website in such a way that search engines show it as a top result for searches of a certain keyword.

Everything has a dark and a bright side to it. SEO has it too. There are two ways to perform SEO:
a. Black hat SEO (Using unethical ways)
b. White hat SEO (Using quality content)

There are 2 categories of SEO: On-page SEO and Off-page SEO

- On-page SEO deals with the things which you control and can do to your pages such as headlines, keyword oriented content and website structure.

- Off-page SEO deals with the factors which are not so much under your control such as Social Media shares and personal history of searchers.

-After these 2 major categories one more essential element comes up known as Keyword Research for a website.

o Performing Keyword Research- Mostly people/customers enter something into a search engine to get needful results of their desires, so we have to pinpoint the most relevant words and phrases for what customers will search in search engine or in our website. These keywords can be broken/ mixed up or group based phrases to match query of customers.
Keywords can also be defined in two cases like beneficiary and competitive.

There are some possibilities for different-different keywords to rank in search engine. The short-tail keywords will face more competition in search engine and it will be harder for them to rank, Long-tail keywords are more likely to face less competition in search engine.

For example: - If your business website is selling mobile phone cases so you’ll have to search customer’s queries matching cases.
Short-tail keywords like “cases” will face more competition. As there would be more search frequency for them.
Long-tail keywords like “iphone mobile protective cases online” will face less competition. As search frequency will be low for them.

After these I will tell why SEO is necessary-
You can certainly pay for advertising and also try to get traffic through social engagement (social networks and relevant forums). Both of those things are usually critical to bringing in some traffic and sales at the beginning while you wait for the slow climb up the search engine rankings.

After a point, the traffic and sales from social networking and paid advertising tend to level out. Actual growth is achieved through increased organic search engine visibility, which is why it is the most important long term goal.
