There's many method, and two of the most popular one are the pyramid style and circle style. Pyramid style, build lots of small websites that have strong bases ( most of these websites contain news, etc ) and for every update you do for these websites..attach a link to your main websites. Circle style, the same actually, you need to build around 5 websites or so, then link all the websites to each other, and pick one website to be linked directly to your main websites.
