CMR Institute of Technology admission procedure

The CMR Institute of Technology (CMRIT) offers programs for undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral courses. The eligibility criteria for each course and subject vary from one another.

For Undergraduate course:

Students who wish to pursue engineering for an undergraduate course in CMRIT should have passed the 12th standard examination or any exam which is equivalently recognized by AICTE. Students should have mathematics and physics as compulsory subject along with electronics, biology, computer science, chemistry, or biotechnology as optional subjects. An aggregate of 45% is required in these subjects, and the candidate should have passed in any of the entrance exams like JEE/ CET/AIEEE/COMED-K.

For Postgraduate course:

Candidates who wish to apply for CMRIT post-graduation course in engineering can go through the Post-Graduation Common Entrance Test (PGCET) followed by a selection process based on merit. This test is required for students to obtain admission under the Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU). Merit list will be calculated based on written examination result.

For Doctoral course:

Students who wish to pursue the doctoral course in engineering, business administration, computer application, and science are firstly required to fill in and submit the application form along with other documents. Eligibility of the candidates will be done by the Admission committee, and thereafter the selected candidates can apply for ULRAT test. Candidates who successfully pass the ULRAT entrance exam will be called for pr-registration Interview which will be conducted at VTU Headquarters, Belgaum. Finally, the candidates who pass through all the levels will be selected.

CMR Institute of Technology admission through management quota
The CMR Institute of Technology admission through management quota for its undergraduate and postgraduate courses. This quota is applicable for students belonging to Karnataka and non-Karnataka. The students applying through this quota for the undergraduate course must possess sound academic career and should have passed in any of the entrance examinations like COMED-K, JEE, CET, or AIEEE. For the students applying for post-graduation course, significant marks should be obtained in undergraduate result along with passing in any of the entrance exams like Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) or Post Graduate Common Entrance Test (PGCET).
Admission to CMR Institute of Technology through NRI Quota
The CMR Institute of Technology, Bangalore offers admission to undergraduate course through NRI quota. For this NRI/ international students needs to pass their higher secondary examination or equivalent exam which is recognized by AIU. They should have mathematics and physics as their main subject along optional subjects such as biotechnology, chemistry, computer science, biology, or electronics. The candidates also require having English as a language of study and must possess a minimum of 45% aggregate marks in the exam.
