Spree Commerce is regarded as the new alternative to Magent. Since Spree is the new platform for app development, it does not provide vast amount of plugins like Magent. Both Spree Commerce and Magento are popular eCommerce platform in the market with each offering unique commerce solutions to online businesses. But both of these platforms has its own strength and weaknesses and the app development platforms are selected based on the project requirement.

Both Magento and Spree Commerce allow you to concentrate on developing distinctive features for your project. Which one to choose depends on your personal needs.

.Pricing

Spree Commerce is in only one edition and truly free. You’ll pay only for front end customization and additional functionalities you develop on the backend.

Magento is available in two editions: Community Edition (CE) is a lightweight, free eCommerce platform.

Plugins

Spree Commerce offers around 60+ plugins.

Magento has a dedicated marketplace with free and paid extensions. With hundreds of plugins to take care of basic functionalities, you can entirely focus on developing unique features for your store.

For my website I've recently used one of these home wordpress themes https://www.templatemonster.com/cate...dpress-themes/ . These themes are suitable for everyone who want to build a great website with no effort and no coding skills.
