No, I don't think so .. Today also blog commenting , forum posting are effective techniques of SEO... It will help to generate a huge traffic and increase ranking of your website..

No it is not true as blog commenting is effective seo technique to get natural links but if one is putting meaningless and spammy comments with lot of anchor texts then it will called spam.

Blog commenting may be dangerous when your commenting on not a relevant blog and your not familiar with the topic .
I mean that blog commenting is a not a spam but commenting on same relevant blog will helps you to get back links.

Mostly people do spamming so there are lots of inbuilt programs available to stop spam but blog commenting is really effective part in seo.

If you are still doing blog commenting by anchor text, then it will be lead to spamming. Post should be proper and of same niche.

Blog commenting can be spammy if the backlinks are coming from low quality sites or irrelevant sites along with anchor text linking. Otherwise, blog commenting is still effective as always.
