I think, the Areas are currently the most important in organically ranking for a particular keyword is :
1) Keyword in anchor text of external & internal back links. 2) Internal link structure. 3) Keyword density in content, title, description, alt tags, h1 tag etc.

You need to check for your competition. When your website is new, don't try to rank with high competition keywords. A good competition is below 50 for a new website. Please check below for more information on keywords.
