To improve your alexa ranking put advertisements on your site. If you have an extra budget, avail services from pay per click sites. You can also tell your friends to visit, review or rate your alexa website profile.

xa Ranking is based on how many visitors (with Alexa Toolbar installed) visit your site. So the more visitors with Alexa Toolbar visit/view your website, the higher your site's Alexa Ranking.

there are lots of factor to improve Alexa.
first of all register in Alexa site add your site URL there.
Add alexa gadget in your website.
update your site frequently. build backlinks to improve search ranking to drive more traffic.
In this way you can improve Alexa ranking.

I haven't found much use out of Alexa overall. improving rankings there is catering to Alexa, not really to customers/search engines.
