Using hashtags to categorize status by keyword: People use the hashtag symbol # before a relevant keyword or phrase (no spaces) in their status to categorize those Pages and help them show more easily in Facebook Search. Clicking on a hashtagged word in any message shows you all other status marked with that keyword.

Hashtag is very important on social media sites. People searches any word by Hashtag. If you will use # (hashtag) on your post then people can easily view your post. By this you can get a lot of traffic on your sites.
