Both indirectly. Probably bookmarking can drive direct traffic while directory can help with page position so it can be also helpful for seo

If you submit your sites at high ranking directories, you can easily get lot of backlinks for your site. Backlinks are really very important factors, which can enhance the ranking of your site.

Even if you submit your site to high ranked directories, quality of the back link will depend on the page rank of the particular page which contains the link of your website.
(There are some pages with low page ranks or without any page rank in high ranked directories)

Directory Submission is no more Suggested by Field Expert in Excess . Also People Used search engine to find for Services instead comes by searching with Directories . Social Sharing is really a Fine technique in getting Good traffic and Popularize business services .
