The advantage is that bot of Google get all links of your website at one place which is easy for it to index all the webpages at a time.

Using sitemaps has many benefits, not only easier navigation and better visibility by search engines. Sitemaps offer the opportunity to inform search engines immediately about any changes on your site. Of course, you cannot expect that search engines will rush right away to index your changed pages but certainly the changes will be indexed faster, compared to when you don't have a sitemap.

Sitemaps also come in a variety of formats and can highlight many different types of content, including video, images, news, and mobile.

How does your Sitemap affect your SEO?

Search engines should see all the pages that you want them to see. The more pages that they index from you, the more trust your site gains. It only means that your website has more information to offer.

Making sure the search engine spiders get to crawl all the stuff they need to crawl from your website is the exact purpose of a Sitemap. It’s not for navigation, it’s not for internal linking. It’s for the search engine spiders.

It won’t greatly boost your on-site SEO, but it would definitely help.

XML Sitemaps are important for SEO because they make it easier for Google to find your site's pages—this is important because Google ranks web PAGES not just websites. There is no downside of having an XML Sitemap and having one can improve your SEO, so we highly recommend them.

XML Sitemap is understood as a "map" of the website thumbnail and it lists all the links within your website in it. The aim is that after you get this sitemap submitted to Google Webmaster Tools, Google's search bots will trace the addresses in this sitemap and submit it to Google's data system.

Later, your pages will be known through people searching in Google, it will have a high or low ranking in the search results depending on your content is good or not and a few other factors.
