Different URLs the same canonical

If I have 2 products with different URLs but they are very similar can I use the same canonical for both?
For instance if I have the following pages

…/product-1?parameters
…/product-2?parameters

In the URL of the second product (…/product-2?parameters) can I use the canonical from product 1?

rel="canonical" href="…/product-1" />
