Whenever your website or ad appears in the search engine, it is called as impression
Whenever user clicks on your particular ad or website is called click

An impression is checked each time your advertisement is appeared on a query output page or other site on the Google Network. Each time your advertisement shows up on Google or the Google Network, it's considered one impression.

Clicks are when the query is done and presence of the website on search engine where your getting visit for your website its called as click, your website is presenting search engine result page than your website not getting the click from a user but present on the result it called impression, how many times your visible on SERP and not clicking on website its called impression.
