When Google bot/software/crawler comes on you website and get information about it, known as crawling as well as when a crawler get information from user website and handed it to indexer to index in Google database, it is known as indexing.

Indexing means search engine. has put your website page in its database and is giving it ranks in its serp. Crawling just means search engine robots have visited your page for extracting the data from them.

Crawling is that the method of associate engine requesting — and with success downloading — a novel URL. Obstacles to creeping embody no links to a URL, server time period, robots exclusion, or victimization links (such as some JavaScript links) from that bots cannot notice a legitimate URL.
Indexing is that the results of roaring creeping. I contemplate a URL to be indexed (by Google) once associate info: or cache: question produces a result, signifying the URL’s presence within the Google index. Obstacles to categorization will embody duplication (the engine would possibly commit to index only 1 version of content that it finds several nearly identical URLs), unreliable server delivery (the engine could commit to not index a page that it will access throughout solely common fraction of its attempts), and so on.

Crawling means Google has crawled your site atleast once and your site goes into their crawled database. Indexing means Google has crawled your site and found it valuable enough to put it in their indexed pages database.
