Bounce rate is the percentage of visitors to a given website that leaves the site after viewing only a single page. A high bounce rate can be interpreted to mean either that the content is not relevant to its target market or that the site is not attracting its target market effectively. Bounce rate can be measured in one of two ways: Either determining the number of visitors who enter the website but “bounce” or move before exploring anything other than the entry page or determining which visitors leave the site after only a brief time period.

Few tips for decreasing bounce rate of your web page- Update your outdated content, Don’t use a popup, Write shorter & effective paragraphs, Translate your site for international traffic, Make your site search more prominent, Make your 404 page more useful, Improve your page loading speed, Make your website mobile responsive.

Bounce rate can be calculated by using Google Analytics. It is the number of visitors, visits single page divided by total visits.

Bounce rate calculates the percentage of your websites without going an inner page or subpage he leaves from your website.
bounce rate = total number of visitors who only view a single page/ total number of visitors who enter to that page x 100

It is the number of visits in which a person leaves your website from the landing page without browsing any further. Google analytics calculates and reports the bounce rate of a web page and bounce rate of a website.

Bounce rate is an internet marketing term used in web traffic analysis. It represents the percentage of visitors who enter the site and then leave ("bounce") rather then continuing on the view other pages within the same site.

Rb = Tv/Te

where

Rb = Bounce rate
Tv = Total number of the visitors viewing one page only
Te = Total entries to page.
