It is probably the best way to pull data from many different sources in a very structured way than the web sites. Most of the web sites has RSS feeds. You may have to copy these links and paste them to the RSS reader you select to use.

My recommendation for you is to use Feedly. It has a web based interface, IOS app and Android App. It is very convenient.

You will understand it much better if you start to use it. It is very simple. It is the most efficient way to the subjects you are interested in.
