I have observed that ezine will give you approval if your content have quality and freshness.

Well article submission is the good but it is only effective when you submit a single article in a single site. and don't post duplicate article.

Article directories submission and press release sites are good to get backlinks. Google is now more consirned about duplication so seo is going harder to write content again and again for submission.
