ASP is Active Server Pages, short-term, program type, and work together with Microsoft's IIS or Internet Information Server. ASP is a Microsoft server for the site work. PHP or Hypertext Preprocessor, on the other hand, running Linux or UNIX server. Can now run on the NT server more updated PHP program.

ASP, Active Server Pages is a kind of agenda that workings with Microsoft beside IIS or Internet Information Server. PHP or Hypertext Preprocessor runs by Linux or UNIX server.

ASP runs on Microsoft servers and it does not run on Non-Microsoft servers. PHP runs on every time of every time server in which CGI runs

The ASP is principally a Microsoft item. Non-Microsoft servers don't track it (it's just transcript to them). PHP runs on several servers that can do even CGI now.

PHP for me every single time, I can't stand Microsoft servers, but regarding which language is better, as has already been said, they are both pretty good and both worth using, I think it is partially just down to personal preference.

As others have said, you can't really compare asp and php as opposing forces. They are both industry leaders, but for different platforms. asp for windows and php for unix.
