A link exchange is a confederation of websites that operates similarly to a web ring. Webmasters register their web sites with a central organization, that runs the exchange, and in turn receive from the exchange HTML code which they insert into their web pages. In contrast to a web ring, where the HTML code simply comprises simple circular ring navigation hyperlinks, in a link exchange the HTML code causes the display of banner advertisements, for the sites of other members of the exchange, on the member web sites, and webmasters have to create such banner advertisements for their own web sites.

Link exchange is very important in SEO.Webmaster normally do link exchange with similar websites in order to get referral traffic and to increase website popularity.
Link Exchange is about getting links on other web resources in order to place their Link back from your website . link exchange needs two websites owner to link to one another websites, it's called link exchange. it's really best method to increase traffic. |

link exchange is a basic working in seo. it is going through starting of seo. it means that i will show your link on my website. and you have to show my website link on your website. thats we call link exchange.

It is also more important these days that when you have a link exchange that the other site that you are linking to has some significance to your site.

A link exchange is a method of trading links with other web sites. There is more than one way to set up a link exchange with other webmasters, the most common way is to go to a site and go to the contact us and send the webmaster an email and request a link exchange. If linking their site with yours will increase their traffic then you will get a yes, but if your site and there are totally two different things and you don't all that much traffic then you may get a polite No Thanks.

Link exchange is similar to reciprocal links which can benefit both sites especially if they have related niches.
