Javascript knowledge when using WP? - Site Owners Forums

Is it a requirement to know about Javascript when using WP?

I am still trying to figure out how to use javascript so I really dont have a clue. At the same time I am going to create a site using wordpress so I don't know if I should learn javascript first.

I have no knowledge about the JavaScript in WordPress.WordPress is a php based language.........

Actually wordpress's backend is in PHP and MySQL, but the frontend (the theme) does usually (these days) contain (quite a lot of) javascript and specific libraries, HTML, CSS, etc.

But you aren't required to know it to run wordpress. There are themes which you just install and you're ready to set off. The sky's the limit
