W3C validation is indirectly related to SEO and does not affect SERP’s ranking directly. Since, W3C validation means free from all code errors, it increases -

- the visibility of a website on other browsers
- credibility of your website

Validation makes your website compatible with other portable devices and devices for physically impaired people. Thus, W3C validation impact your website's rankings indirectly.

Page load time also concerned for Google ranking. If your web page is not w3c standard the page loading time is too much.

Yes, W3C Validations are important from SEO Point of view. If some W3C Errors are ther due to coding script errors, the Google spider may not crawl that link and ultimately your rank in search engines may drop.
