Direct traffic never affect your Website Keywords Ranking. Organic traffic only is used to affect the Keywords Ranking.

Direct traffic do not helps the ranking in google search index. Google only counts the genuine user search from the search engine to decide ranking.

If you are getting good traffic, or quality traffic from genuine audience then i will help to boost you ranking. Some of factors you need to look out like pageviews, bounce rate, click through rate, those factors tells you how was your traffic.
