The Taj Mahal is an iconic mausoleum located in Agra, India. It was built by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his beloved wife, Mumtaz Mahal, who died in 1631. The construction of the Taj Mahal began in 1632 and was completed in 1653, taking over 20 years to build.
Shah Jahan was deeply in love with his wife Mumtaz Mahal and was devastated by her untimely death during the birth of their 14th child. In order to honor her memory, he commissioned the construction of the Taj Mahal, which is widely regarded as one of the most beautiful buildings in the world. The Taj Mahal was designed by a team of architects led by the Persian architect Ustad Ahmad Lahauri. The construction of the Taj Mahal involved the labor of thousands of artisans and craftsmen, including masons, stonecutters, inlayers, carvers, painters, calligraphers, and gardeners. The main building of the Taj Mahal is made of white marble and is decorated with intricate designs and calligraphy inlaid with precious stones. The complex also includes a mosque and a guest house made of red sandstone. The Taj Mahal has become an iconic symbol of India and is considered to be one of the greatest examples of Mughal architecture. It attracts millions of visitors from around the world every year and has been designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Same day taj mahal tour by car
