This is a question that most of us are chasing currently. Well the important thing to understand is that getting on Google page 1 is similar to starting shop. Would you want to start shop in a deserted, no man's land with minimal to zero accessibility and visibility? I am going to take the liberty of answering 'NO' for you. The idea of starting shop is to have maximum people walk in and view products. Hence in a similar manner getting on search results can be compared to starting shop. Therefore if your website ranks in the top on page 1 you will find your website receiving more views and access from potential traffic that could ideally lead to conversion. This is why SEO treats Google page 1 as its main goal.
