In my eexperience till now wordpress developers didn't find any solution for this problem.

this actually just happened to me. I disabled jet pack and since then all what i did on my custom css is gone.

it was under "appearance"/"edit css"

Could anyone tell me how can i bring the css back even if i don't reinstall jet pack?

I am not sure how to proceed.

Before starting to do changes to your wordpress css, you should save one backup file in our computer as backupcss.

I copy the file I want to play with into CoffeeCup and make my changes. I then copy-n-paste my revised version of the file into WordPress and check how things turned out
