How is Shale Gas Produced?

The increase in production was mainly the result of horizontal drilling and hydraulic fracturing techniques, notably in shale, sandstone, carbonate, and other tight geologic formations. Natural gas is produced from natural gas and oil wells on land and offshore and from coal beds.
