Quality score
Google said, ad extensions typically improve clickthrough rate and overall campaign performance because they make ads more useful. Now Google feels it is an important factor to include in their ad rank algorithm. Earlier ad rank was calculated using your max CPC bid and your Quality score.

Google recently launched a new version of the AdWords API that allows users to download Quality Score information at scale, so contributor Brad Geddes used this information to break down the weight of each factor impacting Quality Score.

Quality Score is essentially what it says on the tin: Google’s own rating of your ads, including the quality and relevance of both the keywords and ads. It is about how good your ad is at meeting the customer’s needs, and this means providing both relevance and value. SEO experts will be more than familiar with those words, and the same principles apply to PPC ads.
