Hi,
No-follow links do have value in SEO. If you only have dofollow links for your website, then your site is very suspicious to Google and may be punished. In order for the backlinks to look natural, you need a combination of dofollow and nofollow. Links on social media pages even though most are no-follow, they will provide you with traffic. website Traffic also impacts on website ranking as well. So yeah no-follow links on social media impact SEO.

Do follow backlinks are those links which is crawled by the search engine to rank your specific keyword related to your website niche to obtain more and more traffic towards your website.
No follow backlinks are those links which doesn't crawled by the search engine to rank your specific keyword related to your website but it help to get traffic towards your website.

Dofollow means “follow” any links it finds on that page and “spider” or crawl those additional pages too and other hand no follow means no link equity is passed from this page to any other page on your site or any external sites.

When a site page gets an inbound link, which is a hyperlink pointing to that page, the page gets a small SEO boost. Think of a link as a point, and the more links you have, the more points. More Points = Winning, like Charlie Sheen.
No Follow:
A no follow link is a link that does not count as a point in the page’s favor, does not boost PageRank, and doesn’t help a page’s placement in the SERPs. No follow links get no love. Theirs is a sad and lonely life.

The quality of the links is also important for both Follow and No-Follow. Google even looks at the quality of the links/sites to your site. Backlinks play a big roll in website authority. The other day I was working on a travel industry project and when I did an analysis on Airbnb, it had more than 3.9 Million Backlinks. That's why you find them in number 1 - 3 on Google in Organic Search and Paid Advertising too.

In my point of view no follow and do follow links have same importance. The only thing which matters is relevancy, so try to get relevant back links for your website. No-follow and Do-follow both links can drive traffic for your site.

There need to be mixture of Do-follow and No-follow to get better outcome in SEO. Back-link from Facebook or myspace and Tweets are essential because they cook a lot of visitors.

As we all know users of social networking site are in billions. When anyone shares nice and interesting post helps to get traffic towards the website. No matter it gives Nofollow or Dofollow backlinks, the main aim is to get traffic dear.

What if the main aim is not traffic, but Google ranking? Is nofollow link from social medias still important?

Interesting. I try to concentrate on posting to relevant posts. I just responded to a post on another blog wondering if this a lot of work for not much reward. I say posting good content is more important Good content will get indexed. If your just trying to make money doing this will feel like work. If you do this because you enjoy it your not going to pay attention to where you post or comment and if it is a do-follow or no-follow link.

I have a yoast SEO plugin on my blog and use it to fully optimize each post before I publish it.

While crawling a webpage, the bots come across all the hyperlinks in the page. usually, they tend to follow all such hyperlinks. Sometimes, you may wish to make some links as no-follow using rel=”nofollow” in the anchor tag of the hyperlink. such links are known as no-follow links and all other usual links are termed as do-follow links.
