Yes,it impact in search traffic because it predicting about your searches and showing results before your typing has been finished, it can save 2-5 seconds per search.

Google instant will indirectly have an effect of traffic because now even before pressing ENTER, information relevant to SEO keywords entered show page updates dynamically with results for the top completion.

I think you can face google dance in initial stage of seo.your keywords chenge their location from one to another.It take time to become stable.
