as you can see from the title, I am looking for big shared hosting account to host a forum.
can only pay via paypal...
Where can I find shared hosting that allow big forum?
Any thoughts on Downtownhost.com web hosting deals?
What will be better: Shared or VPS hosting account for running a forum?

It's better to use a VPS and vpsblast.net or aspnix.com can be helpful for you in that.
Their plans have many useful resources and their uptime is high.
Being in your place, I'd check out all their plans and choose the best one for myself.

If you are looking to host big forum on shared host then you need to consider following points.

1)Resource usage in terms if cpu amd memory
2)Traffic/ bandwidth usage
3)Database size
4)Number of visitors

Big forum generally need high bandwidth and resources that sometimes become problem on shared hosting as there are already multiple sites are hosting and sharing server resources.
