Affiliate links cloaking? Necessary? How? - Site Owners Forums

Hi guys,

I'd like to know your thoughts on affiliate link cloaking. I've read everytning and its contrary about the matter so I don't know.

Some say Google dont like affiliates sites, so you have to cloak them. Others say breaking guidelines is not good too.

Right now, I'm hiding my affiliate links to my visitors with Pretty link plugin lite for wordpress.

Do you guys think thar's good or do you have something better to suggest?

Yes you can cloak them but if Google notice you may be banned with your site and that is bad.

My affiliate link does not appear in the ad only the destination site. Can you use link cloaking on Ads and is it nessecary?

Whats important is that you have a website with quality content that provides user with a good experience while visiting your website, there's no valid proof that Google dislikes affiliate site and about affiliate cloacking just make sure you use the nofollow tag in your external link.
