What is a Redirect in SEO?

A redirect is a strategy to send both users & search engines to a new URL than the single they originally requested. In SEO there is certainly three main kinds regarding redirection i. e. 301, 302, & Meta invigorate.

1) 301 Redirection: 301 Redirection is any permanent redirect which moves between 90-99% of website link juice (ranking power) to the redirected page. 301 redirection refer for the HTTP status codes for this sort of redirect. In most circumstances, the 301 redirect is the better method for implementing redirects on a website. In SEO 301 redirection mainly use to fix the canonical issue regarding the website, or we reroute old domain to a fresh one.

2) 302 Redirection: 302 Redirection is any temporary redirection method & moves 0% of link fruit juice (ranking power) & typically should not be employed. The Internet runs over a protocol called HyperText Exchange Protocol (HTTP) which requests how URLs work.

3) Meta Refresh-: Meta refreshes are some sort of redirect that is implemented around the page level relatively compared to the server level (They are generally slower & not advised SEO technique). They are most commonly associated with a 5-second count straight down with text "If you're not redirected in 5 just a few seconds, click here". Meta refreshes do complete some link juice but usually are not recommended as an SEO tactic as a result of usability and loosing link juice passed.

Hi,
Redirects are used to tell visitors or web crawlers where to go if the page they are requesting is no longer available for one reason or another. Although this concept is fairly simple, many website developers use redirects incorrectly, which can severely impact the website’s performance as well as its SEO ranking.
Thanks

A 301 redirect is a permanent redirect from one URL to another. 301 redirects send site visitors and search engines to a different URL than the one they originally typed into their browser or selected from a search engine results page.

301 Moved Permanently. A 301 divert is a perpetual divert which goes between 90-99% of connection value (positioning force) to the diverted page. 301 alludes to the HTTP status code for this kind of divert. In many occurrences, the 301 divert is the best technique for actualizing diverts on a site.
