The easiest and most effective way to fix 404 errors, from an SEO perspective, is to use a 301 redirect.

When a page URL does not exist or is renamed, any links directing to the original URL will return a 404 found error.

when you found 404 error, first check the URL you entered. If it is right, that means the page you want to open is Not Found on server.

404 error comes when the particular page or website is renamed or moved to another Location.

404 ERROR Not Found: The server has not found anything matching the Request-URI. No indication is given of whether the condition is temporary or permanent.
If the server does not wish to make this information available to the client, the status code 403 (Forbidden) can be used instead. The 410 (Gone) status code SHOULD be used if the server knows, through some internally configurable mechanism, that an old resource is permanently unavailable and has no forwarding address.

The easiest and handiest thanks to fix 404 errors, from AN SEO perspective, is to use a 301 airt. 301 is AN hypertext transfer protocol response code that signals to the user's browser (as well as Google's search classification robots) that your content has enraptured for good from one URL to a different one.

While it's normal to have Not Found (404) errors, you'll want to address errors for important pages linked to by other sites, older URLs you had in your sitemap and have since deleted, misspelled URLs for important pages, or URLs of popular pages that no longer exist on your site.
