Search engines judged pages only on the content of web pages, not any so-called "off-page" factors such as the links pointing to a web page. In those days, keyword meta tags quickly became an area where someone could stuff often-irrelevant keywords without typical visitors ever seeing those keywords.

It is not totally based on keyword. It depends on your content which is on your web site. If your content is effective and creative then google gives you positive result in your ranking position.

it seems google no longer adopt that keywords tag field..

Google doesn't consider keyword tags as part of their metrics in rankings.

In old days it is needed by now its not necessary. It won't harm either so you can use it, but Google don't give them any importance instead it will use it to check for spammers who add lots of unrelated keywords in meta tag and the content don't have them. Google gives negative marking to them so if you use try to use with caution or just simple leave it.
