RSS is a standard format for syndicating content on the Internet. The content can be anything! Often information contained in an RSS feed is syndicated on other sites which expands its reach.

Website visitors love RSS because they choose which feeds they wish to subscribe to, if at any point they are unhappy with the content contained in the RSS feed they simply unsubscribe and no longer receive notification of feed updates.

RSS is really a win, win for both subscribers and publishers.

Also consider it a way to get more links and exposure. There are a lot of blog and RSS directories out there. And to try and ensure your links get into your RSS feeds make sure to use Yoast's RSS Footer plugin for Wordpress...if you're using WP to run your website.

RSS is benificial for both visitor and website and it is a widely used format of web feeds used for content syndication. It is amongst others used to spread news and new posts on a blog. Users subscribe to RSS feeds to follow interesting information from all around the web. RSS feeds use a standardized XML file format to publish information.
