With the unmanaged vps you will get root access but you may have to configure security of your vps.

Lusovps.com has been a great host for me!!! Haven't noticed any downtime. They are very quick to respond to help desk tickets!! I had a problem after updating a script on the site and they were able to restore the site from a backup very quickly!!! EXCELLENT SERVICE!
