Important: Does paid directory submission really worth it?

I BUSSINESS in over the years, and I have to, if you have some good results, recently with yahoo's pay list? I think, do one of my website, but I'd like to know if I should not, because I don't want to spend $300 and put the money directly in garbage. Tell me about, please your experiency.
